Branding to Disrupt: Nestlé Waters Rebranding Project
Project Type: Branding
Programs Used: Adobe Illustrator + Adobe After Effects + Adobe Photoshop + Adobe InDesign
Year: Fall 2021
I created Branding to Disrupt: Nestlé Waters Rebranding Project in my Senior Studio Graphic Design class. In this project, I explored designing for a cause, icon and logo design, color palettes, and typography.

I was assigned to rebrand a company with a social or environmental flaw for this project. I chose to rebrand Nestlé Waters and focus on their unethical water use, specifically how they source water from dry areas. I began this project with redesigning the company’s logo. After much logo development, I went with a logo design built from a water droplet shape with an “N” for Nestlé cutting through it to represent their unethical water use. I used a water and dry ground texture overlay on the logo as well to further illustrate the land and Nestlé Water’s use of and effect on it. I limited my color palette to blues and neutral tans/browns to be representative of water and dry ground. I chose to rebrand Nestlé waters using a single serious-toned sans-serif typeface with many faces (Bold, Regular, and Light). This font contrasts the brand’s original round and fun typography to bring seriousness to the environmental issue being addressed in this project.
